Happy Birthday D! | Belleville, Ill., Event Photographer

Even though I am a natural light portrait photographer and do not normally shoot birthday parties and events, I really do enjoy them when I get the chance! I love capturing all the details that are involved, especially when I get to go the cutest and sweetest first birthday party ever! When my daughter Audrey saw these pictures she said, “A candy party mommy! I want a candy party!!” I’m pretty sure we are going to be borrowing some of these ideas for someone’s 5th birthday party this fall!

Anyway, sweet little D just turned one and it was so fun to meet her and celebrate with their family! It was rainy and dreary outside, but that didn’t put a damper on the party spirit!

Happy Birthday D! Thanks for a super fun party!

Holiday Mini Sessions | 2010 Family Photographer

I have had such a busy holiday season and it’s finally winding down now that the holidays are so quickly approaching! It’s time to catch up on some basics, like blogging sessions! So here is a long post showcasing this year’s holiday minis. I really enjoyed them! This year, I only booked eight for one morning, but think I might have to extend the sessions to more families next year! A big thank you to my 2010 holiday mini families for making this a super fun day! Blog1 Blog2 Blog3 Blog4 Blog5 Blog6 Blog7 blog8 Blog9

Holiday Mini Sessions | Holidays & Products

I love the holidays. Love them. I love the bustle of the crowds and the late nights; the shopping, the wrapping, the spending; the food, the drinks…the family! I also love to plan for the holidays way in advance, to the point that my dear husband made a rule when we started dating that I wasn’t allowed to play holiday music until after Halloween. So, every year I oblige. But that doesn’t mean that the planning begins any later, especially now that the holiday season seems so short.

I’ve been booking holiday sessions for months already and almost all of my weekends are booked. In fact, I’m unable to accept any more full sessions before the holidays, but I’m happy to offer to you…Holiday Mini Sessions! Here are the details:

2010 Holiday Mini Session

*If it rains on November 6, I’ll have two rain dates available so please keep the mornings of November 7 and November 14 as tentative makeup days.

*Your gallery of images will be available within two to three weeks, before Thanksgiving. The deadline to submit your Holiday Card order will be December 3, which will allow enough time for delivery to you in time for the holidays.

*Mini sessions are available for child and family sessions, but are not available for newborn or extended family sessions due to time constraints.

**Are you an existing client who is not available for mini sessions, but also didn’t get a chance to schedule your holiday family portrait session? I’ll be happy to create a custom holiday card for you using images from your 2010 session with Five Petals Photography.**

I’m so excited to be able to offer the following holiday cards this year!

Each card will be printed as a 5×7, two-sided, flat card with envelopes included.

Mr. G celebrated his 3rd birthday with an awesome cake, lots of friends, a bouncy house, a petting zoo and pony rides! Does it get any better than that?!? What a dream party he had!! And I was lucky enough to be there to capture the fun! It was so much fun, and mom and dad did such a great job making this party just perfect for their little G-man and all of his friends! God Bless Jacob | St. Louis Event Photographer

On Saturday, my family joined the B family for sweet baby Jacob’s baptism and 1st birthday party. I was the official photographer for them, which was sweet, but I would have been there anyway! When taking pictures of events like this, I just try to capture the things that I’d want for myself and to make sure mom and dad get to be in the pictures too (because I am never in my own)! I hope you enjoy this collage of images from the baptismĀ and the one super cute moment from Jacob’s birthday party. He wasn’t so interested in his cake, probably because we already had his cake smash, but he was interested in decorating mommy’s face with icing. Ha! Blog Blog2

Happy birthday big boy and congratulations!
