Looking Ahead to 2010

My weekdays have freed up for any last minute holiday sessions that may arise so please contact me if you are interested!

What an awesome season I’ve had! Who knew that I’d start with one nice friend who let me practice on her (Hi Melissa!!), and now I’ve booked 25 sessions in two months time! This has been an amazing journey I’ve started, and I can’t wait for 2010!!!

Speaking of 2010, I’m booking for NEXT YEAR already! If you are ready to book for 2010, please e-mail or call me. As a special incentive, anyone who books a session for 2010 before December 31, 2009, will continue to receive my portfolio building prices at a 75% discount! I’ll be introducing new (yet still somewhat discounted) prices soon for 2010!

Hope this holiday season finds you well!

Sneak Peek – The E Family

IMG_1999blog We really like the daycare that Audrey and Drew attend and their friends and classmates are just awesome, as are their families! Today, I had the opportunity to capture one of those families and they are just gorgeous! I usually refrain from posting family photos, but we mostly focused on full family photos so I am sharing just one of the many I have.  I really like this one because you can see how much their littlest adores her big brother. Seriously, in this set, she is staring into his eyes in almost every picture. He really got her attention and I think the love between older and younger siblings is something to cherish!

I can’t wait to show the Es all of their beautiful family pictures! In the meantime, enjoy just this one on this oh so thankful day!

Sneak Peek – Little Miss M

We have some awesome neighbors, and I’ve had the opportunity to take photos of a few of them now! It’s so great! The M family has the cutest little Miss M and a sweet puppy to boot! I was able to shoot all of them, but here is one of my most favorites from our session together! Isn’t she the sweetest?

She loved this fuzzy rug so much that even when we moved her, we found handfuls of fuzz! Oops! Check out that smile! Look at those eyes! Isn’t she darling? IMG_1820 blog

I came across this little gem and had to add it. Babies LOVE when mommies tickle their tummies!!! BLog

Sneak Peek – The P Family

I was worried about how well I’d be able to capture little Mr. R when mom mentioned that he was a bit shy, which often translates into camera shy as well. Well, imagine my suprise when I walked in the door and he said, “let’s take a picture!” He was awesome!! He smiled at me again and again and did everything I asked of him. He let me hold his toys, play with his binoculars and take some pictures with his Elmo camera! Here is just one sweet capture for the day; I’m enjoying a bit of soft processing on my photos this holiday season. I hope you enjoy it too!

Thanks for a great session to the P family! IMG_1577 Blog

Sneak Peek – The Vs

Our good friends the Vs asked for a family picture and I was happy to oblige! Especially because that meant that our kids could play together, and we could hang out and have lunch together!

The family pictures went very well, but Mr. R wasn’t so excited about individual pictures! Turns out I picked naptime for our session. Oops! Still, his blue eyes are amazing and I couldn’t resist the look on his face here!  It pretty much sums up how he was feeling…”Seriously Miss Laura? Another picture? I’m ALL DONE!”

We had so much fun; taking pictures of your closest friends sure does have its benefits!! We love you guys! Blog

Sneak Peek – The M Family

Tonight I did a shoot that was a little different for me. Usually, I look for natural light opportunities, but it’s hard to find nice natural light around a Christmas tree! So, I improvised and love the shots we got of the M family! Their home is beautiful, their tree is beautiful, THEY are beautiful!

We had a fun time with their little 2 1/2 year old, Mr. G. He got mom and dad dancing, showed me some of his favorite ornaments and was so excited to be ‘king’ when mom let him sit in her very special chair!

I couldn’t pick just one or two so I’m posting more than usual. One thing I must say is that this family really loves one another and Mr. G told me so over and over again and was the sweetest little gentleman! When I left, he very politely said, “Thank you very much Miss Laura!” in his super clear, yet certainly a 2 1/2-year-old, voice. Awwwww….!

First, mom and dad let Mr. G take a break and get a really cute shot together!  Shelley and John

And a little black and white! hug bw

That little guy is a perfect Christmas card. The processing is beautiful and he has such a fun expression. Great job on these.

Sneak Peek – Baby T

I had such a great night as ! I had the pleasure of visiting Baby T in the hospital when he was just 15 hours old. 15 hours!! Talk about getting baby fever! He was so tiny and sweet and delicious and awake the entire time! He definitely preferred being swaddled, and I was glad to learn I still have the touch when it comes to swaddling, but only mommy had the magic touch when he started to cry. Of course, he was only crying because we took off his clothes, which would make anyone cry!! Here is a sneak peek  with a little soft processing for mommy whom I know is waiting to see her adorable little guy! Baby T is welcomed by his proud big brothers, whom you can see here! Sneak Peek – The C Family

I’m starting to see a theme with some of the little ones I’ve shot…there seem to be a lot of twin boys!! This is the second set of 2 1/2 year old twins I’ve had, which means I’m starting to figure them out! Luckily, these two were a dream and really love each other! I just adore this sweet moment between brothers; aren’t they awesome? Also, what happens when you have twin boys and are expecting another baby? You don’t get many pictures of yourself so we made a special effort to take pictures of just mom and dad. The boys were great helpers, standing by my side and waving, dancing, shouting, “Say Cheese Mommy and Daddy!” and doing everything to get mom and dad to look at the camera! It was a fun morning, and I was glad the boys were going to feed the horses at Lonview Park when we were all done!! IMG_4504 Blog Blog

Sneak Peek – The M Family

I met the M family downtown Saint Charles for an urban family shoot. Downtown Saint Charles is so cute as were the Ms! We met late afternoon as the sun was fading fast, but we got some super adorable shots of the family together and the kiddos individually. Little Miss A was quite the little model! Her little brother, Mr. R, was more interested in the animal crackers I keep for this reason specifially (I get it-I have a 3 year old and a 14 month old too!), but, as you can see, he too showed off a bit for the camera! I love these ages, but I might be just a bit biased!

Overall, our shoot was fairly quick, but I can’t wait for the Ms to see the rest of their adorable family!! IMG_4267_Blog IMG_4257_Blog
